Christians in business are prone to have a bias that everyone is honest, and fraud doesn’t exist. In fact, it comes in variety pack with some very tempting specials! Exposure of fraudulent behavior and people is a theme right now (first awakening to the corruption, then Reformation). God is exposing myths in every mountain. Angels and sons are helping, and the full exposure has only just begun.
- Medical – Covid fraud, Fauci, CDC, WHO, pharmaceutical corruption.
- Church – Mike Bickle, Paul Cain, Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye.
- Government(s) – Cabal, stolen elections, CIA, FBI, UN, EU, WEF.
- Economy – The national debt is 35 trillion and it’s not a topic.
- Media – Cable news is fake.
- Entertainment – Many movie scripts are engineered propaganda.
Some of the verses about this reality are quite sobering.
Jer 5:30 – A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land:
31) The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority,
and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?
Mt 7:22 – Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name
and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
23)Â Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
2 Thess 2:9-12 – The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. NIV
Here are a few natural and spiritual facts about fraud.
Wheat and Tares grow together (Mt 13) – God lets evil and good co-exist prior to weeding his garden. That means we will get a few surprises in the spirit and in business. Things aren’t always as they seem or as they are advertised. Judas was included among the disciples, healed the sick, and drove out demons before he betrayed Jesus. So how do we discern the legitimate from the fraudulent?
Discernment is a gift, not a doctrinal stance – We have some natural tools like cash flow and reputation that we can use to intellectually project the future, but none of our natural tools can discern hearts. Discernment requires us to hear the warning of the Holy Spirit and a willingness to commit our ways to the Lord. Discernment isn’t magic; however, we do need to hear from God.
The related question is, “Why am I susceptible to deception?” What interferes with my ability to hear Father’s voice. The answer is my own lust for what the temptation offers. We have our own agendas for money, sex, and power. Even though God can provide for all our needs, the shortcut to speed up the process involves us buying into the lie in the fraud. Fraudulent offers need willing buyers who “love the lie.”
When we do get bit, revenge or justice isn’t the first priority. It’s understanding my receptivity to deception. Why am I drawn to lying signs and wonders and the myths offered by false teachers, prophets, and salesmen? Is it all an accident, or is Father wanting to show us something in our hearts?
Sons are targeted – The spiritual warfare behind the fraud is real. Your business, life, and Kingdom purpose threaten enemy plans and you will get an extra dose of temptations and myths. All of us have vulnerabilities and most of us have a few failures under our belts where we bought the lie and paid the price. Making the heart adjustments is what keeps repeat incidents at bay. The single biggest failure point is sons believing they are immune from temptation and deception.
What was in my heart that wanted to hear the lie instead of Father’s voice? Here are a few examples:
- Wealth and Power – God does bless His people financially. However, putting His Kingdom first opens that door. The overflow God gives us facilitates accomplishing our Kingdom purpose. A myopic focus on personal freedom or financial return in the absence of Kingdom purpose is usually a train wreck waiting to happen.
- Visibility or Fame – Our hearts long to make a contribution and be celebrated for it. Our Father promises to make our name great (Gen 12:2) and there are anointings in our lives to do exploits. However, the temptation to shortcut the timetable for Father’s promotion is real and represents the second train wreck waiting to happen.
- Love – We all long for and need love. Sex can be the immoral compromise trying to get there that nearly always leads to the third trainwreck.
The common thread in our trainwrecks is self-will. Instead of getting God’s purpose and plan, we manufacture our own. The Bible calls it lawlessness or iniquity. Well-meaning people can even try to do the seeming “right things” for long periods of time and still end up losing all. We can even sprinkle “in Jesus’ name” on them for cover and still end up in the realm of lying signs and wonders that include prophecy, healing, and deliverance – pretty amazing. Iniquity is often clothed in a religious spirit!

The secret sauce – OK, it’s not a secret. Abiding in Him is the answer. The price tag for discernment is time in the Council for conversations. It’s the level of relational dialog between Father and us that makes all the difference. Will that eliminate every bad thing in our lives? No, sons are the ones who volunteer to take up their cross. We do win; the Kingdom does prevail; there are some great victories and exploits. There are also some deaths and resurrections to endure. The harvest is work!
The lens sons use to define success is not ease of lifestyle, it’s co-laboring with Father. That’s our place of rest. Your path will have all four seasons and your relationship is the roadmap to get through every challenge on your way to fulfilling your Kingdom Purpose. The Courts of Heaven and Father’s divine Council are ingredients that lead to the desires of your heart. Facetime with Father is intentional.

Rev 13:13-14 – And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. NIV
Rev 19:20 – But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. NIV
