Ps. 37:4 – Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. NIV
Delight (H6026) – To be soft, pliable
It’s not that hard to focus on our dreams and the desires of our hearts. We should, God wrote them there. This blog is about how to move those dreams and desires from wishes to reality. First, we have to experience them in heaven; the manifestation on earth comes second. We can all dream about future glory when our dreams do come true. The key is to experience the abundance, fatness, and overflow of our future right now. It’s far more than a positive mental attitude. Experiencing heaven is what sons do in the council (More in Seers and Doers: Sons Bringing Heaven to Earth).
Be a son in God’s council – When we “see” who our Father really is, we also get the picture of who we are as sons. Our Father’s purpose and provisions can be seen in heaven; we see both who He is and what He does. The revelation is that we are the ones responsible to bring that purpose to earth and implement it. We have a sovereign responsibility to inherit our land (the heritage of Jacob).
Isa. 58:14 – Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your Father, For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” NASU
Share Father’s heart – Be delighted about what delights the Father. You’re not being asked to give up what is written in your heart. The most “delightful” thing is to find the overlap between your Father’s heart and your heart. That is the source of your passion and authority on earth! It’s exciting! First we experience the person, then the purpose, and then we have the flexibility to choose to go with him.
Ps. 36:8-9 – They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. NIV
Experience It! – We’re not just bringing back an intellectual awareness of the will of God. We’re tasting the fatness, the abundance, and the overflow of His provisions and purpose in heaven before we come back.
Ps. 16:5-11 – Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. NIV
We know the theory of being able to do all things in Christ. Yet, we are very often up against the wall of not being able to implement “all things” in our own strength or wisdom. So, we ask, plead, beg, pray, invoke His name, and prophecy. Authority on earth starts with an experience in heaven. Here’s the secret. When you experience the Father’s purpose, power, and provision in heaven, it will satisfy your heart, and you will taste the joy and the glory of what the Father is doing. If the answer doesn’t arrive on earth per your schedule, you are still enjoying the experience of it in heaven, and your confidence perseveres. If you don’t have the experience of the Father’s purpose in heaven, you will eventually give up – even on God’s purpose. Your intellect won’t carry you; only the experience of heaven will bring the purpose of your heart to earth.
Isa. 55:2 – Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance. NASU …. “Let your soul delight itself in fatness” KJV
Sons and Sovereignty – We usually think of sovereignty as independence; it’s really ownership. When sons see and experience the Father’s purpose in heaven, they have the latitude to implement it on earth in any number of ways. As servants, we have been programmed to look for specific directions (I’m just doing what I’m told with no sense of the larger purpose). Sons look for the Father’s purpose, and sons own the responsibility to make it happen. They are willing to own their land, defend it, and grow it. Knowing the Father’s purpose is the foundation for creativity, the many ways to accomplish it. The Father’s heart is delighted when sons understand Kingdom purpose and show up with solutions.
