I’ve met some great people in our travels to Poland and I want to introduce you to one of them. John Godson is a member of the Polish Parliament. He’s a great example of a King in the political mountain with an apostolic gift to raise up some sons and daughters. Listen to the great sound of what God is doing in Poland… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-qbHf9S0VY&feature=youtu.be… and join me in supporting him. I can tell you how.
The video for this blog is here.
The most remarkable thing about the Russian invasion of Crimea is the lack of resolve to respond in Europe and the West. A successful military invasion was conducted to take over an entire state without firing a shot. The lies Putin has told on a daily basis are astounding and virtually unanswered. The whole episode pulls the curtain back on one clear observation: the West is without moral leadership at the moment. Our eggs are collectively in the basket of gay marriage, legal dope and government consumption. It is simply an amazing time… for God to intervene. You can feel His heart aching, searching for hearts who have the courage to represent His heart and give an answer to the taunts of the devil.
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chron 16:9 NIV
A different spirit – Somewhere in the wings, the leadership exists to fill this vacuum with a sense of courage and destiny and the resolve to respond. There is always a healthy tension between the realization that we are like grasshoppers before giants in our own strength, but more than conquerors with “Christ in you.” Leadership apart from God is frail, confused, fearful and powerless. That is effectively the message coming from the current crop of church and government leaders – a feckless silence borne out of deafness toward God.
The Lord asked Moses to send 12 men to explore Canaan which “He” was giving to Israel (Num 13:1-2). Of the 12, ten decided to offer their opinion that they couldn’t do it in their own strength, and two simply understood that God had already made the decision. Spying out the land was just an exercise to figure out how to do what God had already decided. Notice how contagious the spirit of fear is, and the lies that go with it.
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Num 13:30-33 NIV
Prophetic leaders – Joshua and Caleb had a different spirit that had roots in simply being wholehearted regarding God’s plan. They knew what it was, and chose to believe it and act on it. Beyond deception, the devil has no particular corner on power. It all belongs with us, if we choose to use it. Real leadership contains a spirit of faith that is naturally inspiring because it has a prophetic sense of what the Father is saying to all of us. Great leaders have always echoed something that was equally in the heart of God. That ingredient is totally missing from our current crop of leaders in the West. The devil’s role of lies, corruption and theft is well covered by Putin. God’s spokesman hasn’t shown himself yet.
But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. Num 14:24 NIV
Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 NASU
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7 NKJV
George Patton, Winston Churchill, John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Lech Walesa… were all imperfect vessels who helped fulfill God’s perfect plan in their era. Their ageless quotations, the courage of their actions and the fruit of their influence still inspire us.
Our portion – There is an open door in the spirit to step into this courageous anointing and lead. Each of us has an opportunity to resist the devil and to play a role in exploits that bring the Kingdom. There is a place of intercession to gain access to that anointing and to unveil the plan. Power is always rooted in prayer. There is another level in taking action. Russia is not a place; it is a state of mind, a poverty mindset that exists in every nation. I am equally dismayed by Obama and Putin. We helped plant a church in Russia in the 90’s. The people are precious, but oppressed and overcome by a culture of corruption. You can see something similar unfolding in the United States. It’s time to come out of religion and into reformation, and refuse the status quo. God has something much better for us.
Lord Jesus – Father, release our hearts to hear your voice and take our place in the gap, on the wall and at the front. Wash us from our lethargy and passivity. Fill us with a spirit of prayer, boldness and zeal. Let us not be among the faint of heart, but let our direction be clear and our resolve to overcome steadfast. Fill us with your Spirit and let your wisdom flow through our words with prophetic authority. In Jesus’ name we declare freedom in the spirit and in the natural for Ukraine and throughout Europe. We declare Putin’s defeat. We speak death to the spirit of tyranny and we declare freedom to the people of Russia. Raise leaders who are willing to confront the strong man and defeat him in your power. Replace those clouds without rain who cower before these lies and corruption. Let your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ mighty name, grant us Godly leaders. Unite our heart around your purposes.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint Isa 40:30-31 NIV
When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. Ps 138:3 NIV
The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Prov 28:1 NIV
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 2 Cor 3:12-13 NIV
PS: Putin is Stalin’s younger brother (in the spirit). The rest of the world doesn’t generally know this but Stalin conducted his own Holocaust in Ukraine (Hololdomor)… just a decade earlier. 7.5 million people were killed because the farmers weren’t eagerly embracing collectivism. Russia is still largely in denial of this historic fact. Putin is a living lie in a practical sense.
