Believers know they should have authority but often don’t know how to use it. The common failure scenario is having a path in mind and then ratcheting up our faith to get it. Using imagination, mindset, Bible verses, or theological preconceptions to leverage God’s power is a little like witchcraft. It doesn’t work, and even if it did, you eventually wish it would not have. God is not a genie in a bottle we can rub at our whim.
Luke 10:19 – I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. NIV
God is very relational, yet the author of a purposeful reformation of people and nations. He is a Father longing for conversations with His sons and daughters in the Council. He does care about the desires of your heart and your business initiatives. What doesn’t work is all the recipes and substitutes for interacting with Him. Faith rests on seeing what Father is doing and doing it with Him.
Our hearts aren’t motivated by mindsets or money, only by encounters with Kingdom realities that make a difference. Your heart already has a belief system built on a mountain of past experiences. We can’t mentally change our hearts or subconscious without a good reason (purpose). In addition, our hearts change via life experiences, not ideas! Experiencing Father’s Kingdom purpose makes all the difference. When we hear Father’s purpose, it resonates, and it’s exciting enough that our hearts adopt it and believe in it because of the prophetic experience with our seer gift or the quickening that goes with hearing Father’s voice. Truth is an encounter with the Spirit of Truth, not an intellectual debate. Faith always starts with Father’s purpose, not the mental manipulation of our hearts.
It’s a new concept, and it goes with sonship. Our progression through religious tradition is:
- Evangelicals quote verses
- Charismatics quote prophets
- Sons quote the Father from this morning.
We’re not leaving the bible and prophets behind. We’re Seers and Doers in a modern Reformation, adding life! The life that flows from our belly (Jn 7:38) originates at the throne of heaven (Rev 22:1-2). We live, and move, and have our being in every word that comes from the mouth of God (Mt 4:4). The challenge is that we are just learning to be present in the Council, hear Father’s words, and use our seer gift to see what’s happening. Faith is no longer a struggle when we have that prophetic encounter (routinely). We can do what Father does, and it’s a delight. We even have confidence if it doesn’t produce immediate results. We’re not performers expecting applause; we’re co-laborers who love doing what Father is doing. Faith becomes the intentional purpose we bring back from heaven with the anointing to make it happen on earth.
We’re seeing Father’s ever-changing strategy for our situation. We’re decreeing that purpose on earth, then implementing that direction in our life and business. It’s what brings Heaven to Earth. We expect mid-course corrections from the next conversation, and it’s OK! It’s life! It’s sonship! It bears fruit!
Do we have to do this? – Sometimes, we have a bit of a religious spirit that doesn’t want to leave the old way – it’s normal. Going to the council is this hour is gradually becoming the key to sonship. It’s no longer optional. Personal pride is the honest failure point when we refuse the new. Lay down your independence and start the conversation. It will lead you into the desires Father wrote in your heart, to a place where Father and you delight in one another and share purpose. Prayer becomes a natural conduit to bring Heaven to Earth. Divine appointments and greater works are the norms when we co-labor with Father. But, the most prominent trademark of sonship is peace in every season; through storms, trials, warfare, resurrections, promotions, victories, and prosperity.
James 4:6-8 – “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. NKJV
