The Bible Basis for Priestly Leaders

We’ve been integrating sonship, ascension, Courts, Council, and seer gifts into the business mountain through coaching, books, and online courses (see resources). Occasionally the Biblical basis question comes up, so I’ve been asking the Lord for more and got a truckload! There are dozens of verses supporting each point in the cutting room floor at the end of this blog.

We’re transitioning into a Kingdom age. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, but covenants, seasons, and ages have changed in the past, and we’re in another one now. To miss the unique features of this Kingdom age in business is starting to be a significant error that can cost businesses people and money. Here’s a list of things to watch:

1. We go to Father, not just Him coming to us

Eph 2:18 – For through him we both have access to the Father NIV

We believe that the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit (Christ in you) leads us into all truth and shows us all things. Now, there is an opportunity to access Heaven’s Courts and Council, understand the purpose in Father’s heart, ask questions, and bring Heaven to earth. Guidance from God is no longer red light or green light. We are no longer just Kings anointed by the Holy Spirit to do great things on earth. Businesspeople have a priestly role that cannot be delegated to the intercessory team. Business Priests are in the Council bringing back the purpose in Father’s heart with the wisdom and authority to implement it on earth. That’s the Priestly function that we’re adding to our businesses.

2.  Sons are Face-to-Face with Father

John 14:3-4 – And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” NIV

In prior ages or covenants, “No man had seen God.” Of course, there were exceptions, but now it’s the norm. Jesus paved the way to Father; He is the staircase to Heaven, and Holy Spirit is our escort. We have a seat in Heaven, a seer gift, and a priestly function to perform there with a Father who loves His sons. As businesspeople, we can no longer afford to miss those conversations. In this age, businesses are built around Kingdom purpose discovered in Father’s heart and built around the book he wrote in your heart. Our priestly function is unlocking the books of those who work with us. Apostolic father’s open books out of love for sons; it’s a direct reflection of Father’s heart.

3.  Sons are Shown What Father is Doing (Purpose)

Amos 3:7 – Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. 
Rev 4:1 – Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this. NIV

Father shows His plan to sons who ascend. The reason for conversations and scenes is Father’s purpose is dynamic and emerges with changing circumstances. It’s a big mistake to think prophecy is an inviolate prediction of the future. Future events are not cast is stone in the sense of predestination. There are always mid-course corrections to get to Father’s purpose (think warfare and free will).

4.  Sons have keys

Matt 16:19 – “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” NASU
Matt 28:18-19 – All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations NIV

The crucial point is that sons have an assignment to bring Heaven to earth. Jesus gave sons the power to do the same works, forgive the same sins, and finish the job of Reformation of Nations. So, we’re not just preachers of good news. In the business mountain, we implement the message and manifest a Kingdom Culture that blesses people and Nations with spiritual and natural value in the goods or services we produce.

Favorite Verse

Psalm 84 is all about ascending. Zion is a reference to Heaven’s courts and Council

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways (staircase) to Zion (Heaven).
6 As they go through the Valley of Baca (sorrow) they make it a place of springs;
the early rain also covers it with pools.  (Bring Heaven to earth)
7 They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion (Heaven’s Courts & Council, Father’s Face).  NASB

Strength is Chayil in Hebrew; translated wealth in Deut. 8:18;
Chayil means value, valor (The value and valor businesspeople create).

The overview of Courts, Council, and purpose that lead to business results is summarized in this graphic. Ascension is not an obligation; it’s an opportunity for sons and daughters to move from a Christian business to a Kingdom business and do what our Father is doing.

We go to Father, not just Him coming to us

Sons are with Father “Face to Face”
(Jesus is the stairway to Heaven, HS is the escort)

1 Cor 13:11-12 – When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.

  • When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. even as I am fully known
  • Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face (G4383)
  • Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Acts 3:19-20 – that times of refreshing may come from the presence (Face, G4383) of the Lord, NKJV

John 12:26 – Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. NIV

John 14:3-4 – And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” NIV

Col 3:1-3 – Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. NIV

John 17:24 – “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am NIV

Rev 3:21-22 – To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. NIV

Rev 22:4-5 – They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. NIV

 

Sons (I will show you things to come)

Amos 3:7 – Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. NIV

John 1:10 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: KJV

John 3:35 – The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. NIV

Luke 10:22 – All things have been committed to me by my Father NIV (the first born son Rom 8:29, Heb 12:23)

John 5:20-21 – For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these. NIV

John 15:15-17 – I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. NIV

Sons Have Keys

Isa 22:21-22 – He will be a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. 22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. NIV

Mr. Garfield, I am 57 and I live in Texas and have read your column/blog and watched your YouTube videos for years. When I began watching and reading your blog, you so provoked me with a new perspective on life and godliness, I would beat my steering wheel or want to throw my phone against the wall in fury. I knew my Lord was speaking through you so I grew. I am not the same man. I’ve had council room visits and courtroom visits for others and myself. They do still feel somewhat unreal. Thank you for taking the time to study, write and teach. I am learning from you, and I am grateful to you.
