The Divine Council and Sonship:

Bringing Heaven to Earth in Business

(Intro Video) Imagine having all power over the enemy; that nothing could harm you. It would be like asking, “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” That’s a topic in the Council (Lu 10:17-19).

This post walks through Sonship in four moves: 1) why the divine council matters, 2) why the expectation of a coming Tribulation sidelines sons, 3) what the sonship story of victory looks like, and 4) how to move from passive hearing to practical co-laboring.

#1) Why the Divine Council?

The divine council worldview (Ps 82:1, 6-8) is that God had a council of sons. In Gen 6 and Enoch 6 those sons saw the daughters of men, fell, and their offspring were giants. In Deut 32:8-9 (ESV) we see that those fallen sons inherited the nations. The reason the nations rage against the Lord is that those fallen sons, or their derivatives in the spirit, still reign over nations.

Access Heaven – All creation has been waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom 8:19). God is repopulating his council with you and me when we volunteer. This concept of sonship is seen in the Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 5:3 says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Sons and Daughters have access to Heaven.

Jn 1:51 – Jesus redeemed access: messengers ascending and descending

Jn 14:2-3 – Jesus prepared a place for us in the Council

Eph 2:6 – Paul referred to that place as our seat in Heaven

Heb 2:10-11 – Jesus is bringing many sons to glory; He’s not ashamed to call them brothers

Jesus redeemed that stairway, Jacob’s ladder, to access Father, and we go to His divine council because it was God’s idea to learn His purpose, His will, His strategy, His tactics, and His culture and bring Heaven to Earth. It’s now our job to be God’s Sons and Daughters, overseers of the nations.

So We Can Inherit the Earth – The very next point, Matthew 5:5, says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the Earth.” The first promise is, “Theirs is the kingdom of Heaven,” and the second one is, “They will inherit the Earth.” Why? All these nations are under fallen sons, the wrong team, and it’s our job as sons to re-inherit or repossess what belongs to Father and bring Heaven to Earth. We’re reigning on Earth with Christ. We’re co-laboring with our Father, and we’re willing to share His purpose as our own and do what He is doing.

Worship in Spirit and Truth – Worship in Spirit is being clear on what’s true in Heaven, what’s in the Father’s heart, what is the Father’s purpose via those council conversations, and then aligning with it. Just like in John 5:19, Jesus said, “I only do what I see the Father doing.” The very next verse says in John 5:20, “For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does.” Our Father wants us to co-labor with Him, to carry His purposes. His Council is the practical means of making that happen.

Your status as a son is that you have a seat in the council. Father is inviting you to do what He’s doing, and He’s promising to show you everything he does. That’s worshiping in spirit. Worshiping in truth is simply manifesting what’s in the Father’s heart on Earth authentically. It’s bringing authentic truth from Heaven to Earth in a reformation.

Reformation is the golden age that’s coming because sons are able to retake nations and establish His kingdom on Earth. There is some warfare, and Sons are fluent in weapons not of this world and are able to defeat powers and principalities that rule over the nations. That’s the plus side. That’s the first big-picture revelation of sonship. What is the Warfare?

#2) The Tribulation Is a Lie

The tribulation is a lie, and it comes from this whole concept of dispensationalism. The Darby theology that was put in the Scofield Reference Bible is the theological root for Zionism. It’s the scheme: that secular Israel being restored to the land sets the stage for rebuilding of the temple, the antichrist, the tribulation, and wars and rumors of wars.

When believers entertain the tribulation lie, three things happen:

#1).  You surrender your authority to the devil. The first expectation is that in your future you will be defeated by the devil in a tribulation; faith for worldwide disaster.

#2).  You’re a second-class citizen in the kingdom. There’s no Divine Council. You’re not an overcomer. You’re just waiting for a rapture, like baggage waiting to be picked up.

#3).  The whole Earth is destroyed. You have faith for failure, destruction, and defeat. That’s not a good thing. That’s not a golden age. That’s not a Reformation and it’s not Sonship.

Dispensationalism assigns the devil a future dominance over the world that Scripture says Christ has already stripped and given to His Sons and Daughters. It is true that a future tribulation is the devil’s will, yet God’s plan is a Reformation and a Golden Age of Sons Bringing Heaven to Earth.

Here’s what the transition out of the Tribulation lie feels like:

Lu 10:17 – The 72 returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
18)   He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven.
19)   I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions
and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

#3) The Sonship Story of Victory

The way that we bring Heaven to Earth, how this narrative goes, or how we do it, is that there is a reformation. There is a golden age. Sons do worship in spirit and in Truth. They ascend to the council and see Father’s heart and purpose. They bring that truth back, and they manifest it on Earth. Sons have an anointing from Heaven to proclaim the year of the Lord’s Favor (Lu 4:18-19).

Mt 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.” That’s what sons do. That “let your light shine” is the same radiance Moses got from being in the presence of God that you’re bringing back to Earth. Sons and Daughters ascending to the Council is the manifestation of the sons of God that all creation has been waiting for (Rom 8:19). It’s exciting because we’re overturning the dominion of evil over people and nations and businesses and economies on Earth. Other people see that and glorify our Father in Heaven.

That is the reformation, or the worship that results: the salvation, the revival that happens when other men see sons and daughters bringing the Father’s glory to Earth.

We’re grateful for that. We’re excited about that. The concept and experience of being a son who ascends changes your identity, how you look at yourself, how God looks at you, and it changes your destiny. You now have a story, a purpose, and a job to repossess the Earth, to establish His kingdom on Earth. That’s the job of sons and daughters, and it happens in practical places like business.

#4) From Theory to Practice

“What would you attempt if you knew you couldn’t fail?” Jesus takes it further in Luke 10:19: “I have given you authority to overcome all the power of the enemy, and nothing will harm you.” In Mt 25:24–26, the servant who buried his talent believed God was a hard man. Fear produces passivity; Sonship releases faith, courage, and initiative.

The question isn’t simply what we would dare to attempt if failure were impossible, but “What would we attempt if we knew Father was inviting us to co-labor with Him, and the enemy couldn’t stop His purpose?” Sons don’t wait for guarantees of success; they hear Father’s Living Words, trust His authority, and courageously participate in what He’s doing.

Sonship: Confidence stems from Council Conversations and Co-laboring on Father’s Purpose.

Ascension: I seek Father’s perspective, purpose, and Living Words in the Council.

Reformation: I act courageously on what Father is doing, and I have weapons not of this world to confront the opposition in Spiritual Warfare.
