We each have responsibilities (burdens) to carry that belong strictly to me (Gal. 6:5). But, each of us has responsibilities to help discern and carry our brother’s purpose (burden, Gal 6:2). Yes, but how?

There is a kingdom shift toward sons with purpose right now. So, let’s contrast the old and the new:

The old – The leader, manager, or pastor has a noble purpose, and we should all line up to support it. There are principles, values, and bible verses to go with that purpose. Then, we submit to one another hold one another accountable to obey those standards. If this sounds a bit legalistic, it can be. Here’s why:

The New – We each have a book filled with purpose and a story that integrates our past, present, and future with Father’s purpose. As friends or leaders, our first priority is to understand that purpose and help people stay aligned with what is written in their books and who they are called to be. We are on the side of integrating them with their hearts – it’s very healthy. Asking other people to align with my purpose without knowing theirs is the definition of autocracy. Father is no longer winking at it. Here is why:

Honor vs. Dishonor – The Spirit of Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If we want our business to work, it is no longer an option to skate around the purpose God wrote in the hearts of our staff. We are dishonoring them and missing the mark in a way that reaps a consequence that is very dangerous. Here is what happens:

Job is a good example of a business guy going through a spectacular downtrend. In chapter 3, he is even regretting being born. In effect, he dishonors his own book of purpose that God had for him. Listen to the consequence of that dishonor.

Job 3:8Let those curse it who curse the day (his birthday and purpose), Who are prepared to rouse Leviathan. NASU

Dishonoring your own book (purpose) or the purpose of those around you is an arousing invitation to a spiritual principality over tyranny, Leviathan. Tyrants don’t start out to be hurtful people; they fall under the control of a principality that wreaks havoc on relationships via control. We can see this manipulative twisting in marriages, businesses, and nations at multiple levels. Tyranny always starts with dishonoring books, not caring enough to ask what is in the desire God wrote in your heart. The opposite of love isn’t hatred, it’s control.

I want to suggest that this dishonor can be ignorant at first. It’s also true that it has been accepted as normal in the past (authoritarian churches, businesses leaders, and politicians). Those days are coming to a close. God is inviting sons who know their purpose to take their place in their mountain. It’s wisdom to cooperate with the Father’s heart to release the hearts of His people. You can hear, “Let my people go!” in the Spirit. It’s the foundation of the next reformation built on sons.

Carry burdens – Carrying one another’s burden (Gal. 6:2) is all about knowing his or her purpose and inviting them into it. We also have the mindset that it’s the Father’s purpose too, and we can help them bring that purpose from heaven to earth. We, and our business, get blessed in the process.

Shared purpose is the fundamental basis for fellowship. If you try to build fellowship around love without purpose, you’re just starting a homegroup, not a business or a kingdom initiative. Without knowing the purpose of those working with you, you have serfs, not sons. They subordinate everything in their hearts to the leader’s vision. Sons do stuff and have fun doing it together because Father is doing it with them. The stuff Father does with us has Kingdom purpose and gets real results, like cash flow and reformation. Obedience and service don’t describe kingdom initiatives that flow from hearts. Accountability will not sustain dictates from autocrats.

Inspiring Leadership connects people with what God already wrote in their hearts and what Holy Spirit is already speaking in their ears. We are not selling people on new frontiers or our initiatives. We are taking them home to their hearts, their Father, and their calling. When we connect people with their hearts successfully, they love us back for the rest of their life.
