Judgment is taboo in western cultures. Jesus, Gandhi, and King are held up as examples of non-violent pacifists who always turned the other cheek, never spoke an unkind word, and happily surrendered to martyrdom. The implication is you should too. Really?

The sister implication is that people are good, and there is no evil. Believers are afraid to judge evil, and deliverance is nearly non-existent in the church because we have no clue how to respond to evil, let alone bind strongmen or set captives free.

Everyone has experienced a religious person with a self-righteous spirit “speaking evil” of others. It comes from the soul, and it stinks in heaven and earth. Jesus called it judging by outward appearance, but both He and the Bible are very “pro” judgment on a righteous basis.

John 7:24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. KJV

John 8:15-16You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16 But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. NIV

Judgment begins at the house of God in the courts and council of heaven. It is not just a political, religious, or doctrinal opinion that comes out of our heads. Righteous judgment has a prophetic implication that originates with the Father and doesn’t have roots in our soulish reactions to abuse or revenge. Evil in people is the natural fruit of their governing spirit, their father. Judgment targets the spirit and its manifestation. It often targets the lie or hypocrisy represented by the person’s words or deeds.

  • When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He calmly spoke truth to each lie
  • Peter offered a soulish opinion, and Jesus told him “Get behind me Satan”
  • Jesus told a Pharisee he was just like your father, the devil
  • Ananias and Sapphira lied to Peter’s and gave up their lives on the spot.

These are all extremely confrontive examples that don’t fit the secular standards imposed on believers by our culture. The difference is that they originated with the Father, not Jesus or Peter. They were not soulish reactions or political opinions. Father God hates evil, yet loves people; we shouldn’t be surprised when there is a prophetic unction that confronts evil to deliver captives.

The Mandate for Judgment – The Father is promoting sons into his council who can use their seer giftings to see what is happening in heaven and bring it to earth. Sons are bringing back the Father’s heart, decrees, purposes, and His Kingdom to earth. Sons have seats in heaven and have keys for binding evil and loosing the Spirit of God. Judgments in the sense of a case in the courts of heaven are also what acquits people who are under enemy accusations.

Matt 16:18-19upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.  19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” NASU

The ecclesia is being built on the rock (access to Zion, his council, heaven), and sons are being given keys to bind and loose on earth what they have seen in heaven. Righteous judgment is no more complicated than being on the same page with Father. Prophetic co-laboring is the authority sons carry to bind strongmen and loose reformation. Judgment (krina) must begin at the house of God (1Pet. 4:17, KJV).

  • Krina (2917) denotes the result of the action signified by the verb Krino (2919)
  • Krino (2919) to judge, distinguish, discern

How? – Righteous judgment of evil is rooted in discerning the spirit behind it, and the lie on the surface (usually expressed through people). Judgment is simply: 1) speaking prophetic truth to confront the lie, and 2) exposing the spirit behind the lie with a motive to set the person free and bind the spirit from infecting others. Deceived and demonized people can be delivered and saved. The Gadarene demonic is a good example who was transformed from possessed to evangelist (Mk. 5:1-20). We also realize people can choose hell over heaven, and God is giving them that choice, not imposing a sentence. Reread Jude and 2 Peter 2.

Jude 22-23And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. 23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives. NLV

The spirit behind judgment is key. If it’s soulish, it will sound inflammatory, reactive, and vengeful. If it originates in the council from Father, it sounds truthful, liberating, and undeniable. It will still be confrontive and may also generate a reaction. Truth does sound like hate to those who hate the truth. We shouldn’t be totally surprised by rejection or persecution. There is still a time and a place for judgment when it originates with the Father.

Current events – If you prophetically point to the lies and the spirit in the media and politics regarding covid, election fraud, corruption, and China, you may well be labeled a conspiracy theorist. It’s also true that believers will resonate with truth from the Father. They can hear His voice. There is a door in the spirit for sons to come out of their closets to bind and loose privately in prayer and publicly with their prophetic trumpets. Judgment is not taboo in the courts and council. We are being invited to take injustice and deceit to the courts of heaven. We are being invited to release the verdicts and decrees from the courts and council of heaven into the public square on earth.

Righteous judgment is the foundation for a free society and a hallmark of the Kingdom of God. It’s a new day. There is a mandate for sons to bring righteous judgment.

PS: Even the devil will ask you by what authority you make these judgments. Have the answer; not the intellectual answer, the experience in the council – what you saw.

Matt 21:23“By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”  NIV

Vengeance is mine (soulish revenge, judgment)

Isa 54:17 – “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord. NASU

Rom 12:17-21 – Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  NIV

Revenge

Heb 10:30-31 – For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”  31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. NIV

Matt 5:38-42 – “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. 40 If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too. 41 If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles. 42 Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow. NLV

Love enemies Matt 5:43-48 – “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. NLV

1 Peter 5:8-9 – Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.  NIV

Speak truth to evil (Jesus’ strategy in temptation)

Matt 16:22-23 – Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” NIV

John 8:43-45 – Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! NIV

Acts 6:7 – So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. NIV

Eph 4:14-16 – Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

Rev 2:15-16 – Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
