Have you ever spent a lot of time and energy in a big initiative only to find out it was a blind alley, a bad investment, or a waste of time? Or, have you missed the big picture and your time and energy produced something unprofitable; then felt like an “unprofitable servant?” Failures erode our identity and the boldness to try again. Most of us have had to resurrect from the despair of hope deferred. Warriors are overcomers for a reason. They see the big picture and use it to leverage their personal resurrection. God’s kingdom is prevailing and gaining momentum, even when my part of the front is overrun.
God does have a strategic purpose for each of our lives. Clarifying that purpose, making that contribution, and joining that tribe is exactly what makes life in the kingdom fun and fruitful. We’re all wired to find what the Father has written in our hearts, and we naturally gravitate toward doing what He is doing. There is a progression our hearts go through (shown in the graphic). The key is that it’s not entirely sequential. We need to see the big picture from day one of our journey.
The challenge is this, “Can we see the big picture in our life story? Can we persevere through the work and setbacks of our job or business and lay the foundation to have the impact of our design?”
Being Entrepreneurial – Being spiritually alive and creative are sisters. The joy of creating value for other people through a job or business is a natural part of our design. The dignity of work is healthy and rewarding. What we accomplish is a natural part of our practical identity – something to be proud of!
Financial Freedom – When we get good at multiplying the value we create, there is a financial reward. I’ve never heard anyone describe a dream that God put in their heart that didn’t cost money. The simple fact is that poverty can steal your ministry and your identity. Making a difference at any level starts with having the cash flow to take practical steps toward your dream.
Impact – Many of my favorite marketers offer time freedom, financial independence, or dreams that come true (houses, boats, cars, vacations). None of those things satisfy our hearts at the deepest level. That’s why retirement is often a death sentence. Life and vitality (physically and spiritually) are directly connected to seeing the big picture and doing what the Father is doing; not out of obligation, but out of the joy of being part of the Kingdom party. We all carry a deep desire to make a difference and play a role in our destiny. Even people who don’t know Jesus naturally gravitate toward global causes like social justice or climate change.
Legacy – Your Kingdom assignment (we can help you find it) is big enough and important enough to pass on to the next generation. The legacy we’re giving the Father as an act of worship is a reformation. We’re not just saving souls, and doing miracles, we’re turning goat nations, occupied by powers and principalities, into sheep nations that we sons are inheriting. That is why mandates and decrees that flow out of the council are important. Sons have a big job requiring great grace and great clarity from the council.
Ps. 2:8 – Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. NIV
Jesus did many mighty works, signs, and wonders. When we hear greater works, we assume we will do them even more. But Jesus’ real work was to reconcile the world to himself and establish God’s Kingdom on earth. The miracles were signs that pointed to his real work. When we begin to think prophecy, driving out demons and doing miracles is our perfect identity, we run the risk of Jesus saying He never knew us! Why? There is a place for gifts, but we are created to do great works that impact cultures and establish His Kingdom in nations. Gifts and fruit are legitimate tools, but they are not an end in themselves; we have a deeper purpose that is only reflected when we co-labor with the Father and share His works. That’s the hot topic in heaven, and we are known in heaven by those same works. Can we see the Kingdom forest for the religious trees?
This Kingdom age stands on the shoulders of salvation, anointing, and service. Now we are known in heaven as sons who make a difference by volunteering for work and responsibility and calling. These sons have plans, cash flow, and clear intentions. They can see the big picture of reformation, and they can resurrect from setbacks. A Kingdom page is being turned in the spirit. Nations are being redeemed in a reformation that is just beginning. You’re invited!
Col. 1:10 – bearing fruit in every good work NIV
Eph. 2:10 – For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. NIV
John 5:17 – “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.“
How do I make this transition? We’ve developed two online courses to bring prophetic and practical clarity to your purpose, vocation or business and a success path to seeking the Father in the courts of heaven and the council. It’s an experience with the Father and a relational tribe that works.
