The genius of entering the Kingdom is that we are simply allowing Jesus to focus our calling, cooperating with it and following it to a place of fruitfulness. With people, we use the heart plan and our prophetic sense to tap into the desires that God wrote in their heart. Then, we simply try to confirm, expand and cooperate with that direction.
We never impose some “one-size-fits-all” direction on God’s people. They are too unique, too called and too precious in their Father’s sight to melt into one nameless pot. There is a place of discipleship in a local church when we give ourselves to an apostolic vision for our local church. We obey, tithe, sacrifice, commit, covenant, build, evangelize… we are equipped by being “faithful in that which is another man’s.” But Kingdom is an invitation into the desire of our own heart expressed in the mountain of our calling. Local Churches equip disciples for the work of the ministry, but those disciples mature, find their mountain and play strategic Kingdom roles through their vocation.
My transition – As a pastor, I was very conscious of sin and I taught people how to overcome it and love Jesus and His church. I often saw people as projects in various stages of overcoming their sin issues – they usually felt a bit judged and were sometimes welcoming and sometimes resistant (not surprising). I was focused on my vision for the church and equipping them for church ministry, and I missed what God wrote in their hearts.
The more I got into coaching and recognizing the gifts and callings God has written in the hearts of HIs people, the more I love them for who they are and the potential they carry. It’s easy to fall in love with those same people when we see the synergism between their heart’s desire and God’s desires. The more I pull the string on that calling, the more those same people love me back. What amazed me even more is that we can prophetically see the gifts and callings the Father wrote in the hearts of pre-saved people… and love them… and when we speak to their heart’s desires, they love us (and Jesus) back.
Nations – One more surprise! As we drew people into God’s Kingdom, mountain and into their own hearts, we began to see God’s design. The same heart plan process that works on people also works on nations. God has a book, calling and gifts that are unique to people groups like cities and nations. When we pull the curtain back on nations, we can’t help but catch a vision for their potential. When we can connect our own calling and heart’s desires with that of our nation, we get a magnified sense of the importance of our destiny. We can’t help but take pleasure in the call of our nation… knowing what it is, praying for it to unfold and working on our piece of it in our mountain. That pleasure is called patriotism.
- Kingdom Patriotism – My nation has a call, an assignment and a gift to bless people
- Heart connection – I can connect with what God wrote in my heart. There is also a connection with what he wrote in the heart of my nation.
What it’s not – National patriotism is feared for political reasons in some circles and for religious reasons in others. Kingdom is always an invitation to step into personal relationship and initiative to co-labor with our Father. It’s always voluntary; never coercive, domineering, authoritative or abusive. It’s not theocracy, it’s not nationalism, and it’s not giving up to globalism:
- Theocracy – The church trying to rule “over” people through government coercion
- Nationalism – Worshiping a nation instead of God, coupled with dominant authority
- Globalism – compromising national calling and destiny; we’re all in one pot
Reformation – Nations and political leaders play a God-given role in the reformation of culture. The meeting culture of the church-only mentality can accomplish discipleship, revivals and church growth. Now we will change cultures, disciple nations and see the next reformation when we have faith for God to move in every mountain…. which amazingly must include nations and political leaders. We are individually saved regardless of what happens in our nation. However, in the larger sense of Kingdom, our inheritance includes the nations.
‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. Ps 2:8 NASU
Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance. Ps 82:8 NIV
The great commission includes “nations.”
“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Gen 12:2 NIV
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” Matt 28:18-19 NIV
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. Ps 33:11-12
For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined. Isa 60:12
God guides nations and receives worship from them.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Ps 67:4 NIV
The Lord will be awesome to them when he destroys all the gods of the land. The nations on every shore will worship him, every one in its own land. Zeph 2:11 NIV
Nations and political leaders (like David) play a Kingdom role all the way to heaven! God’s Kingdom includes apostolic leaders in every mountain of influence.
The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; 26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Rev 21:24-27 NASU
Get it in writing – We are students of those heritages and destinies in the nations we visit so that we can build a strategic bridge between those nations and God’s Kingdom. We are not just helping people enter this reformation; nations are invited, too. Poland has been a focus that the Lord has given us, so we have linked examples of her book and what we saw in prayer. We are attempting to get the call on nations in writing… one at a time.
USA – is called to be the light and the glory. An example of God’s grace and prosperity granted to bless and minister to other nations. She is called to lead. Her trademark verse is, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” The genius of the United States is found in the power and uniqueness of her states and her people… each is valued as a unique cultural expression that contributes to the whole (one of the great principles of Kingdom). There is more about unique American Values here. (From many one, Liberty, and God)
Poland – Polin means “a place where God dwells.” It is a place of holiness, heroism, purity and excellence that is easily seen in her people, her history and her destiny. Her heritage is the heart of God and the spirit of resurrection. We asked for the details on Poland’s book and how to intercede in the courts.
Netherlands – is the gateway to Europe. This nation is very entrepreneurial and plays a role in trade… importing and exporting both commerce and the Kingdom. The Dutch can take any idea or invention, recast it into an improved version, and distribute it around the world. This part of Europe was the heart of the first reformation and is called to play another role in the second. Listen to the national anthem and you can fell the spirit of the nation.
France – France (land of Franks) means free. It is the birthplace of the renaissance, a place of rebirth for creativity, the arts and romance.
Where ever we Release Kings, we ask the Lord to show us two things: 1) what has God put in the heart of the person I’m talking to, and 2) what has He put in the heart of their nation. Both touch a powerful prophetic nerve and we are very patriotic about that Kingdom heritage that is ours to steward.
