Update – Last week in Adding the Miraculous I shared the story of taking Roger Webb to Redding, California for prayer for cancer. We since had a healing evangelist in town who went to Roger’s home and ministered to him personally. We have seen progress but we are still contending for the manifestation of tangible results beyond the removal of the plate in his leg. I’m praying that God will “finish” the good work he began and heal internal organs. As we shared last week he’s already received one creative miracle. As you pray for him you may get something you would like to share in an email with Roger. Here is his email (RogerHWebb@aol.com).
He Gave Gifts – In the course of praying through this healing we and others have explored every angle of guidance, counsel and prayer strategy. One input was, “If it’s God’s will, He will provide the healing.” As I scrolled through my recollection of healings in the Bible, I couldn’t recall a time when the gift in another person wasn’t somehow involved in actually bringing the healing. Naaman had to go to Elisha (2Kgs 5)… we went to Redding. God likes to heal and do the miraculous in answer to prayer. However it’s prudent that we realize God overwhelmingly works through the gifts in other people. So, if I need healing, I’m going to pray “and” find someone that’s done it before; someone with the anointing and the practical experience and authority in the Spirit to make it happen. This seems simple but people that are new to the Biblical practice of healing often miss it.
Our Provider – I’m also feeling a connection between contending for healing and contending for your Kingly inheritance. God is not only Jehovah Raphah (our healer, Ex 15:25), He is Jehovah Jireh (our provider, Gen 22:14). Similar to healing, people new to finances expect God to provide out of the blue and miss the need to get help from people with “the gift.” If you’ll look around, you can find people in your own network who are blessing financially and have learned to receive from God.
So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” Gen 22:14 NIV
Where the water stirs – Here’s the real lesson; you can receive an anointing to heal the sick. You can learn to prophetically flow in the gift of healing. It’s not just for a select few evangelists. If you will get next to the right people in the right setting you’ll get it. That’s why people are flying to the Todd Bentley meetings in Lakeland, Florida right now. The presence of God is very real and they come home with a different level of authority for healing and revival. e.g. Roger got the word of knowledge for his miracle in Redding from a brother who had just returned from Lakeland!
“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. John 5:7 NIV
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. John 5:8-9 NIV
You can do it too! – The same phenomenon is true in the prosperity realm. The blessing of God on your finances and destiny is not limited to a select few. It’s available to everyone. There is an impartation available from God “through” people that already walk in that Kingly anointing. It’s not magic – you’ll still have to make the investment or write the business plan and start the business. However there is an anointing and a boldness to do those things in wisdom and safety that comes to us through the example and the impartation of brothers and sisters that have gone before us. Find them… the prosperity that will fund your destiny depends on it. The answer is not in a can or a verse; it’s in a person with a gift that will take you higher in Christ.
