The video is here.

When I was first exposed to the Kingdom in my late teens, I saw college-age men and women just like me who had something real that I didn’t have. I was gladly swept into a movement of many other people much bigger than myself and shared a thousand scenes of the miraculous presence of God changing lives for the better. When we were in the Netherlands, I had the same sense of getting saved again… being swept into something much bigger than myself. I also had the sense the God had “multitudes” more waiting in the wings… whose hearts have already been prepared for this Kairos moment; this tipping point of reformation. It’s time for us to tell them how much fun it is really is.

Multiplication is an attribute of the Kingdom that we have to intentionally adopt. The idea of reformation is naturally contagious and goes viral after it reaches a tipping point. The Gospel of the Kingdom can spread in amazing ways and we can cooperate with that phenomenon by the way we communicate the message and the vision.

Christians and pre-Christians both “trade or buy” into what God has for them for the benefits (I did!). Our tradition is that we get caught talking about the sinful lifestyle we gave up instead of the glory we exchanged it for. God is pleased to give us the Kingdom and he tells us how! “Sell your possessions” (Poleo) means to trade. I’m trading some of my hard-earned possessions for treasure in heaven… that can be deployed now back on earth. In other words, I’m trading up for something of more value to me and my Father. We’ve read this verse as though God wants us to get rid of all our possessions and be religious, poor and humble. In fact, Jesus wants us to prosper, have fun and example an “abundant” life. Learning how to create wealth is a Kingdom anointing that we will come to celebrate.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:32-34 NIV

Trading – As believers we do trade our time, talents, treasure and our very lives for something much better… It’s not a sacrifice, it’s a bargain that we trade for in wisdom to “increase” our spiritual and natural portfolio. If we do “give” something away, a spiritual dynamic can be released to multiply it back many times over! It can be a wise “trade.” Yes, there are hirelings that fleece the saints perverting this truth and leading to poverty, but the real Kingdom concept of trading always results in increase via multiplication. We can’t manipulate God to make it happen (by our faith) but we can flow with the Holy Spirit when the time and opportunity are right. Hearing God to wisely to make “trades” is part of why Courts of Heaven is an important approach to intercession.

I’m reading Elements of Diffusion by Everett Rogers… concepts Simon Sinek flows from. My sense is that God has many more talented people queued up for this reformation that haven’t heard yet… many, many more. We need a way to “virally” communicate God’s vision for a reformation that disciples nations. We are being invited to describe the benefits of trading up for Kingdom… in our conversation and in the media mountain.

The concept of the Netherlands leading a reformation has some very contagious ingredients that will want to multiply (because we’re resonating with something God already put in Dutch hearts). The seed has been planted in Dutch soil that is ready to produce “all by itself.” We are cooperating with this “all by itself” contagion of Kingdom.

“This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces Mark 4:26-28 NIV

We can communicate Kingdom and reformation in ways people can be early adopters:

  • The benefits, advantages of the innovation
  • The compatibility with my current values
  • The simplicity associated with using the idea
  • My ability to “try it and see if it works” for me
  • Fruit, does it produce results. What are they.

These are all very rational considerations. Because we make decisions at a heart level, we must also understand those “heart reasons” for trading up: What’s the desire God wrote in my heart? What are all my friends doing? Which direction is the wind of the Spirit blowing?… these are all pointing “up” as well.

We are not afraid to make “trades” for God’s Kingdom. The opportunity to connect my own destiny with God’s purpose in the nations is compelling, adventurous, fun, a party and a Kairos moment in history that can’t be ignored. I have three reasons to take my “eating and drinking” and “trade up” for God’s Kingdom. They are all in my best interest.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Rom 14:17-18 NIV

RighteousnessDikaiosune in the Greek means equity of character or justification. Jesus atonement has the effect of putting me in relational fellowship with God. When I hunger and thirst after righteousness, it’s not my great works or perfect character… it’s my longing and love for Him. So, I am God’s friend, promoted up from servant and slave. We talk, collaborate and co-labor. He welcomes my initiative and I can feel His wind in my sails. He’s invited me and you to help start a reformation. Excitement, enthusiasm and thankfulness that he chose me are always welling up in my spirit. I’m an empowered, co-owner of this vision. Its why I’m motivated!

PeaceEirene in the greek means to join and carries the implication of prosperity. When I “trade up” for the Kingdom I’m partnering with my Father; I’m an ambassador operating in His name and my expenses are underwritten my Him as well – I’m a king, He’s the King of kngs. My vision is always beyond my personal bank account, but I still have a peace that passes understanding because my Father is writing the checks. Here’s the translation – We are being invited into an anointing to create wealth. It’s part of the Kingdom covenant that enables reformation (Deut 8:18). Though spiritual, we live in our culture and we prosper by work and businesses that create value for others. We have the practical spirit of wisdom to write plans, manage risk and understand cash flow. If we are not working / creating or bills are unpaid, we are not surprised if our peace lifts.

JoyChara in the Greek means cheerfulness and calm delight from the sense of being well off. I’m “greatly rejoicing because I’ve traded for Kingdom and I can see the fruit in my own life and in those I touch. I have “delightful” fellowship with the Father, I can ask for whatsoever is in my heart and I’m ministering to others from a cup that overflows. I’m having fun, making money, loving people and building the Kingdom… it’s a party. Any tribulation seems trivial… because it is.

The reality of contending for a viral, contagious, fun version of our message is that it’s all happened before:

Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times. Mark 4:6 NIV

40 His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 5:40-42 NIV

So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7 NIV

The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. Acts 11:21 NIV

But the word of God grew and multiplied. Acts 12:24 KJV

In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power. Acts 19:20 NIV

All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth. Col 1:6 NIV

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. Heb 6:13-14 KJV
