You Can Do It Too
Abbotsford – Our conference in Abbotsford was totally fun. David Harris and I shared the load Friday night and Saturday. On Saturday night we ministered with Brian and Kristen Olynick at East Gate Church… great worship and a fun congregation. Sunday we shared at Global Harvest Centre led by Michael Bullett. I came home with a real sense that God had accomplished something significant in the lives of His people.
Howard – Howard and Leslie Ferris came to the conference and shared their testimony in the services. They are my favorite example of Kings and I use their story at every conference. Having them tell it themselves is even more powerful. In a nutshell, Howard is a civil engineer that uses his vacation and personal finances to conduct crusades around the world. They are up to 72,000 salvations in places like Pakistan and India. You can view their plans for 2008 on the web site. They have seen all kinds of miraculous healings and even one resurrection. Howard is not a flashy preacher and doesn’t survive on offerings. When he shares how it all came about people can identify with him and they start to believe they could do it too.
Christians celebrate exploits. We love to hear stories that glorify God and touch the lives of people. We love to “bless the nations.” Many just need a to be encouraged and shown how to make it happen and they would jump at the chance to become a “Howard Ferris.” The Lord spoke to me about two areas of release: initiative and finances.
Give Yourself Permission – Here’s what the Holy Spirit spoke to me over the weekend.
You’re ready to go
When you don’t have to be sent
We are used to ordaining pastors and sending them out. I think it is wonderful that we do. I believe those that instruct us in the word are worthy of double honor and we should encourage pastors in every way possible.
The thought naturally creeps into our minds that we too should be “sent” and blessed by the church. If this were utopia, maybe we would. However, I like the present arrangement that leaves the responsibility for my ministry on me. When your initiative is high enough to “go” you’ll finish the adventure and we’ll celebrate your exploits the way we celebrate Howard and Leslie. Our Churches provide plenty of opportunities to go with someone and learn how to minister and get organized. Here’s the boundary. No Pastor want’s to take responsibility for your success or failure. They want to release people into their own gifts and callings. They don’t want to manage a hierarchy that consists of managing the activities of every saint in the church – That’s God’s job.
Finances – There is a transition happening in Kings right now. People like Howard are discovering practical ways of converting money into ministry. To date, the equipping we receive in church is a little weak on finances. About all many saints come away with is a good grasp on how to take an offering… a sense that their ministry “should be” funded by others.
God is raising up Kings that know how to multiply finances with wisdom “and” they know how to preach, teach, heal the sick, and raise the dead. That is this decade’s mature disciple. Men and women equipped inside the church but expanding the Kingdom outside the church in the marketplace. They are not waiting to be sent and not waiting for someone else to fund them.
You can multiply your ministry
When you can multiply your finances
Life is an adventure. People are a blessing. God is amazing. We’re winning.

Opportunity! – I helped Jayston Tunnelle (a pastor from Liberia) write a business plan for a grocery store in Monrovia. We need someone with experience in retail / groceries to review it and we need an investor to make it a reality. The details of the business start-up and Jayston’s contact info are on the link.
You’re invited into the vision to release Kings; communicate the message, make the money, and do the mission.
1.The Message – Our first goal is to get the Releasing Kings message into the hands of the messengers that will carry it… do it, preach it, teach it, example it.
2.The Money – The second goal is to help Kings break out of poverty by networking them with practical opportunities to prosper. We want to introduce them to the right people, the right opportunity, and the right financial approach.
3.The Mission – Network Kings with opportunities to mix business and missions. Accomplish the great commission through the marketplace.
