The Stuff of Mighty Men

The Stuff of Mighty Men
…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Dan 11:32 KJV
In this hour God is raising up mighty men that are doing exploits in His name. I keep meeting people that have great dreams and seize great initiatives. There is an anointing that is increasingly available to expand the Kingdom in great ways. Benaiah is the fourth place finisher among David’s might men. My spirit leaps at this passage.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, who performed great exploits. He struck down two of Moab’s best men. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. 21 And he struck down a huge Egyptian. Although the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear. 22 Such were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada; he too was as famous as the three mighty men. 23 He was held in greater honor than any of the Thirty, but he was not included among the Three. And David put him in charge of his bodyguard. 2 Sam 23:20-23
The are some key ingredients that go into mighty men. Here are a few.
1. Know their God – Bold initiatives have roots in something. When Christians show great courage and do great things they are drawing upon a sense of knowing what God is doing and operating in a power far beyond their own… they find an anointing in God’s power. The ingredients are a personal act of our own will combined with the power of God. The power comes when our hearts touch the things that are touching God’s heart. Our emotions and our strength represent God.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:14-17
2. A lifestyle of courage – “Exploits” by mighty men aren’t accidents. They come from ordinary men and women just like you and me that have been doing the little things all along. They have such a reservoir of conviction that bad odds don’t seem to phase them. Listen to the sound of “calm” courage under fire.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Dan 3:16-18
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13
3. The righteous are as bold as a lion (Prov 28:1) – Reagan Couch is a friend. He owns a business and has always been involved in the ministry of whatever church he attends; youth ministry in his early years and now men’s ministry. He’s a great example of a “mighty man” and here’s the example. When we got back from the Netherlands and told the story about ministering at the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International Convention something ignited in his heart. He was saved under that ministry quite a few decades ago and he decided to start up another chapter. I think it was about 3 weeks from the time he told he was going to do it until it was done. He jumped through every organization hoop, rounded up some spirit-filled businessmen and they’re off and running.
What happened – God is raising up businessmen for ministry right now. Reagan just touched something that is close to God’s heart. Now to get the complete picture you have to know Reagan. To introduce you, I’ve posted his interview. He’s a lot of fun… A big bear that used to play football; an encourager with a heart for people as big as Texas; and a man with an absolute passion for God that doesn’t know quit.
I see the eyes of the Lord searching throughout the earth for those that are willing to say yes. Regan is one-of-a-kind but there are many waiting in the wings just like him that will say yes and have the “can do” attitude to go with it. Real men and real women.
Life is an adventure. People are a blessing. God is amazing. We’re winning.
John & Harold (are dancing – Join us)
New Book – Our goal in Releasing Kings was to articulate theological basis for Marketplace ministry such that people naturally mature toward being more entrepreneurial and more generous. Harold has continued that theme in a new book that I really enjoyed. This book is a brief explanation of Resurrection-based Christianity entitled Jesus Came Out of the Tomb, So Can You. It also appears on our Recommendations Page. There are four other books that tie closely to the chapters in Part 2 of Releasing Kings that are all worth while.
4 No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. 5 As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Isa 62:4-5
Conferences – The Last trip to the Netherlands was a real eye-opener! I greatly underestimated the value of our book, the impact of the message on individual lives, and the value of live conferences. I witnessed the power of God being unleashed in the hearts of men and women by simply explaining the theology and experience behind releasing their heart’s desire to expand the Kingdom. Seeing the lights come up in the hearts of God’s people feels like sponsoring a jailbreak. One of my goals is to equip others to help us share the message in conference formats before we get overwhelmed with the momentum of what God is about to do. If your church or organization is ready, we can help you start a fire… a big one!

Interested in your own WEB?
We’ve posted information on the software we use to create this web site. If you survive the learning curve without losing your sanctification (mine is barely intact), it really is easy to use and the cost is $299 a year – much less expensive than hiring someone. The primary benefit is the ease of making your own changes. Additional info is at:
Progress – Kingly Bio’s are Up
We’ve completed the first round of interviews with Kings. These are real people that have been blessed by God in the Market Place and have hearts for ministry. Check it out at http://www.releasing-kings.com/Interviewing-Kings.html. If you have a success story, we’d like to post it by giving you a web page on our site.
Progress – A Teacher’s Guide
We’ve completed the first version of a study guide that targets those teaching the material in Releasing Kings. It includes a page of notes on each chapter, all the graphics suitable to make overheads, and a PDF file of the book with the key points highlighted that includes marginal notes, comments, and questions. This material is available for purchase on the teacher’s guide page of the web.
God has given us a great tool to communicate a message that sets people free in an amazing, contagious, life-changing way. If you haven’t read it – get it. If you have read it – give it.
We’ve gotten a ton of positive feedback on the newsletter too… get it, give it. Reloading Seniors was powerful. Pass the link on.
PS: don’t forget to look at the free reports – show your pastor the article on marketplace ministry from the pastor’s perspective. You can simply email him this link or print a copy to give him. http://releasing-kings.com/pastors-perspective.html
