2011-09-04 11th Hour Disciples

Tele-Seminar Beverly Lewis and I will be discussing Kingdom impacts in an interview last week, “Have fun make money and love people.” to listen, the recorded version is here.

Conference in Springfield, MO: (Sept 30 – Oct 1) Here is more about what to expect and details to register. You’re invited!

11th Hour Disciples

Under Seige – There are times when we look at all that needs to be done, and feel overwhelmed. Like Elijah, we can feel like “I am the only one left” doing a good job for God… feeling alone in the warfare and facing a multitude of issues. Elijah did some outstanding exploits (so have you!), but three times he repeated his belief that he was the only one left. He wasn’t. God had 7000 spare prophets all volunteering for the job eventually assigned to Elisha.

“Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”?  4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”  5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. Rom 11:3-6 NIV (1Kgs 18-19)

11th hour workers – Similarly, in Mt 20 (the parable of the workers in the vineyard) the reserves got called up to help finish the job for the same pay. The same thing is happening right now. Our Kingdom assignments are large and intimidating, and we might feel overwhelmed by the odds. “No one else is volunteering to help” is a frame of reference for many. Right now God is calling up the reserves! They have not spent decades working their way through the church ranks. They have never seen a church split or debated the finer points of theology. These 11th hour disciples are hidden in the 7 mountains of our culture, and they already have some land. They are not desperately wicked sinners. They have not bowed the knee to Baal. They already have wealth and influence. They are simply finding a relationship with Jesus and plugging into their Kingdom purpose. They are skipping my 40 years of preparation (or was it circling the mountain?). In any case, my heart is thrilled to see them added, and the welcome mat is on my front step.

The welcome mat – How do we treat new disciples whom God has called from his store of those “reserved for Himself”? They carry a sense of God’s promotion. Our first goal has to be to help them connect the talents, position and influence, that they already have, with their Kingdom purpose.

I just interviewed Ray Edwards. Ray has an incredible career in marketing, copy writing, and now mentoring others in that area. He’s 45, saved as a child, but fell away from the Lord during his teens. He’s coming back into the Kingdom with a 30 year blank in his spiritual resume. Please hear this: He is one of the 7000 reserves. God has now plugged him right into the Kingdom and had been grooming him all along. Ray brings his 1500 Facebook friends with him and 100’s of business relationships. He’s already doing conferences similar to our own. His activation into the Kingdom was nearly instantaneous. He will activate many more reserves in the business mountain because he already has the connections. His goal is to raise up 1000 millionaires for Kingdom work; even more Kings having fun, making money, loving people, and building the Kingdom. His story is being repeated around the world. We’ve seen it clearly in Poland. The Gospel of the Kingdom has a refreshing sound that is connecting people directly with Jesus and their purpose in the Kingdom. They are not just getting saved and sitting in pews. They are making a Kingdom impact immediately. It’s totally exciting.

What about me? – I have a new saying that fits all of my challenges: “It’s not about me.” We are all privileged to be part of something much bigger than ourselves. More and more I feel the wind at my back as though flowing in a mighty river toward a great victory. We are not being left behind. I am personally amazed at another open door… fathering some of these mighty men and women who are being deployed for exploits in the Kingdom. They need our encouragement, and if we have any wisdom that will help them, we should volunteer it. Promoting these dynamic new reserves is what the Father is doing. It’s what we should be doing, as well. The essence of leadership is making other people successful. This is the hour for those kinds of leaders to lift up these young lions to fulfill their destiny. Ray puts it this way, “My ceiling can be your floor.”

Your dream is worth some face time – You and I are being invited to pursue the desires of our heart, find the overlap with the desires of God’s heart, and do something great in the Kingdom. From a practical standpoint, your dream is worth some one-on-one time with someone who can help you. Here are some suggestions to make that connection.

1. Let your genius come to the surface. Give yourself to your strengths, and get help for the rest.

2. Admit that all successful people use coaches, mentors and consultants and have a team of help. You should, too. Your dream is worth it, even if it costs you some time and money.

3. Clarify your personal direction. We suggest starting with our Coaching Module. You can self-help your way through it for free. When you identify your heart’s desire and the direction you want to take, a coach or a mentor with specific expertise is a wise choice.

4. Our interviewing Kings page is a list of people who can offer general coaching or specific mentoring or consulting in their area of expertise. Start shopping for the help you need. It’s easy to find, once you make a decision about what you want, and become intentional about achieving your goals and dreams. Beverly Lewis or Tara Travis might be a great place to start if you’re still finding your niche. If marketing is your need, Ray Edwards is a great choice.

PS: I want to recommend some follow-up reading.

Who is God by Harold Eberle provides the best explanation of a more relational view of God. It’s must reading that connects our perception of God with everyday life.

Releasing Kings for Ministry in the Marketplace takes that foundation into marketplace ministry and the entrepreneurial nature of Kings. Fruit in the marketplace naturally springs out of sound doctrine.

Desire to Destiny – Takes the foundation and marketplace ministry and puts them in the context of seven practical keys or stages of growth you can apply in your own life.

You’re invited into the vision to release Kings; communicate the message, make the money, and do the mission.

  1. The Message – Our first goal is to get the Releasing Kings message into the hands of the messengers that will carry it… do it, preach it, teach it, example it.
  2. The Money – The second goal is to help Kings break out of poverty by networking them with practical opportunities to prosper. We want to introduce them to the right people, the right opportunity, and the right financial approach.
  3. The Mission – Network Kings with opportunities to mix business and missions. Accomplish the great commission through the marketplace and occupy the Seven mountains of: business, media, arts & entertainment, education, family and government in addition to the church. See video #1 and video #2
