Current events – The conference in Buffalo with David Tinney and Greg Dalessandri was a total party. I am always amazed at the level of stirring in Kings right now. I try to interview several in each session so that the prophetic anointing becomes obvious to everyone when we ask people about the desires in their heart. God is calling all ages into this move, but I am particularly drawn to encouraging young men and women in their 20’s and 30’s. Let me share three examples from Buffalo:
Amy was there Friday night, sitting alone in the back row. She may as well have sat in the front, because there was radiance about her. Amy is 30 years old, married, with 5 children ages 1 to 8, as I recall. She and her husband Joe carry a burden for creating wealth through real estate. Amy didn’t want to get left out of this vision, so she got her real estate license. They wondered in their hearts if it was OK to prosper and give themselves to this vision. I simply saw what God was doing (by asking) and gave her a prophetic permission slip to do exploits in the Kingdom – which she had already started. You could feel a weight lift off her shoulders as the Father and “father figure” verbalized that is was OK to pursue this dream. On Saturday it was Amy’s turn to watch the kids and Joe, her husband, was present. Guess what we did with him? Same thing.
In the Sunday Worship service a young woman was leading worship for a portion of the songs, an apprentice who was fairly new to the worship team. She represented vitality and an anointing that is available right now. Although I didn’t get her name, she was a prophetic statement God was making in that church, “freedom to pursue your heart.”
Then on Monday I saw the news after President Obama’s statement. I was a little surprised to see people outside the capital and in Times Square celebrating. But, what totally caught my eye…! They were all in their 20’s and 30’s. This generation gets it. We’re having so many victories that it’s time to celebrate.
Pullbacks – Buffalo is currently at about half its peak population, there are about 25,000 empty homes, and an atmosphere of discouragement is over the city. The Buffalo Bills have maintained a losing tradition that seems to feel like part of the city’s identity. Once a vital shipping port via a canal system, it declined when rail service became available; once a great center for the steel industry, now overtaken by competition from Japan. Although house prices are cheap, the tax rates in New York are third highest in the nation. Many weigh the thought of giving up and leaving. BUT, the most prophetic statement I heard over the weekend was, “God’s favor is on Buffalo.” From God’s perspective, it’s a beautiful city in the land of opportunity, and people in their 20’s and 30’s are going to build it back up again… all the Amy’s and Joe’s who have 5 kids and vision to prosper are going to change the tradition… political, economic and religious.
Our job – The recession represented a pullback that has weighed on the psyche of the world. Many believe that America and Europe are in decline and the Middle East is close to disaster. I don’t! With all my heart, I believe America is on the rise, right along with Buffalo. I believe the 20’s and 30’s in the Middle East are going to pull off some democracies, and I believe our job is to see to it that God’s plan to bless the nations has “boots on the ground” – (us) Kings leading the way in faith and action in every mountain.
Part of the way those in my generation are making these changes is by encouraging the next generation: showing them how to create wealth, how much fun it is to do exploits in the Kingdom, and most importantly, that we simply love them. We’re having a Kingly party and they are invited.
The increase of the Kingdom – Pullbacks are a normal part of life. In trading, it’s called a Fibonacci – 80% of the time a move up is followed by a retrace back down that matches half the length of the move – “two steps up, one step back.” Life has always been like that. The mistake believers often make is assuming the sky is falling when we’re simply in a normal pullback.
Are we in a pullback now? Well, it depends on your perspective. You may be experiencing problems in some area on a shorter time frame. But in a little larger scheme of things, it’s just a pull-back in a longer term up trend. Why do I believe that?
The Kingdom had been advancing since Jesus’ resurrection 2000 years ago. We not only win in the end, but our rate of increase and the number of victories is speeding up all the time. We are simply not losing any battle! There is no end coming before we finish blessing the nations and filling the earth with His glory. All of our pullbacks are temporary!
…and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. Isa 9:6-7 NIV
He must become greater… John 3:30 NIV
…the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 1 Cor 15:24-26 NIV
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” Heb 12:28-29 NIV
